Caroline Mazzolari Bio
Carolina Mazzolari, born in 1981 in Milan, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the intersection of emotions and materiality through various mediums, including textiles, large scale embroidery, photography, film, and performance art. She studied Fashion Design at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano NABA (1999–2001) before pursuing a degree in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design (2000–2004).
Mazzolari’s ongoing series, Emotional Fields is central to her practice. These abstract sculptural tapestries are visual interpretations of complex inner states, drawing initial inspiration from Kurt Lewin’s field theory and Carl Jung’s psychological frameworks. Evocative of mandalas, her works transform personal emotions—such as love, awe, grief, and inner conflict—into universal narratives, engaging with the human psyche through a symbolic and meditative visual language.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart, Tasmania.
Carolina Mazzolari currently lives and works in London.
