Dan Perfect

Dan Perfect is a contemporary abstract painter whose work begins as improvised works on paper, which are then used to make tightly constructed large scale compositions in paint on linen. The paintings evoke a natural world bound up with technology; bold brush marks and sinewy flashes of neon dart across fluid, spacious backgrounds, whilst nascent figures, masks and beasts emerge as if summoned from some primal formlessness.

Perfect lives and works in London. He studied at Chelsea School of Art and Saint Martins School of Art in the 1980s. He has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, including the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide; ICA, London; Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery and Southampton City Art Gallery. His work is in public and private art collections, including the Government Art Collection, the Saatchi Gallery and Southampton City Art Gallery.
