Jeremy Deller is an English conceptual, video and installation artist whose subject matters often centre on political and social themes. 

Born in London, he studied History of Art at The Courtauld Institute of Art and then University of Sussex. His work often references a range of British pastimes and pursuits, and engages with both popular and traditional culture. Notable pieces include Acid Brass, 1997, featuring an arrangement of house music performed by brass band; Folk Archive with Alan Kane, 2004, a touring exhibition of folk art; and We're here because we're here, 2016, marking the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.

Deller was awarded the Turner Prize in 2004 and represented Great Britain at the Venice Biennale in 2013. He has exhibited across the world and has had solo exhibitions at Kunstverein, Munich; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and Haywood Gallery, London among others.
